Our engineers
Vetted before they get your address.
Anyone can call themselves a catering engineer. We check the things that matter before an engineer goes on our list, and we take them off it if they let a kitchen down.
Photo ID checked
We've seen who they are before they ever see your kitchen.
Insurance checked
Public liability in place and in date, so a slip is on them, not you.
Gas Safe / F-Gas checked
Registration looked up on the public registers, not taken on trust.
Proven on real jobs
We only keep engineers who turn up when they said and fix it first time.
For engineers
We're building a small, hand-picked team for the pilot. If you're Gas Safe or F-Gas registered, insured, and turn up when you say, apply.
A few places. London only.
Pricing
Free for kitchens.
For the three-month pilot, Sort My Kitchen costs you nothing. You pay the engineer for the repair, at their rate, and we don't add a fee on top.

Questions we get asked.
Independent commercial catering engineers working in London, the sort you'd find by asking another chef. Before anyone joins we check their photo ID, their insurance and, where it applies, their Gas Safe or F-Gas registration on the public register. After that, they stay on the list only if they keep turning up and fixing things.
Nothing from us during the pilot. Sort My Kitchen is free for the first three months. You pay the engineer for the repair, at their rate, and we don't add a fee on top. If that changes after the pilot we'll tell you well in advance.
It depends on how urgent you tell us it is. Emergencies, where the kitchen can't operate, get a call back straight away and we aim for same day. For anything less pressing we work to the time slots you pick when you report the fault.
Anything in a commercial kitchen: ovens, hobs, fryers, fridges, freezers, ice machines, dishwashers, glasswashers, coffee machines, extraction. If it's something we haven't listed, add it under Other and tell us what it is. We'll find someone.
No, but it helps. The rating plate gives the engineer the model and serial before they set off, so they turn up with the right parts and the right expectations. Scan the kit that would hurt most if it broke, and add the rest as you go.
Your request is logged as Requested and lands with our team straight away. We ring round the engineers who cover your kit and your area, confirm who's coming and when, and update the status in your My requests page. You'll hear from us by phone or email, whichever you gave us.
Yes. Your inventory and fault reports are only visible to you and our team. We share a machine's details with an engineer only when you've asked us to book a repair on it. We don't sell data and we don't run ads.
